SONNY BOY WILLIAMSON
“Its been so long, until I just can’t sleep at night
Been so long, that I just can’t sleep at night
I go to eat my breakfast in the morning
And my teeth and tongue begin to fight”
— Sonny Boy Williamson played the Bromel Club, Bromley on January 31st 1964
ABOUT THE CLUB
Bromley has always been associated with the blues. In the 1960s, the Bromel Club at the Bromley Court Hotel hosted many American bluesmen, including Sonny Boy Williamson, Screamin’ Jay Hawkins, Champion Jack Dupree, John Lee Hooker and Bo Diddley, as well as stars such as Jimi Hendrix and Wilson Pickett. Sonny Boy also appeared in early 1964 at the now demolished White Hart Inn in the town centre.
British disciples of these legends also featured – John Mayall’s Bluesbreakers, Zoot Money, Long John Baldry and the Animals also appeared on multiple occasions.
Now, the blues is back. 2x UK Blues Award Winner Mississippi MacDonald and The Bourne Music Club are proud to present a new series of blues shows featuring the cream of British and American musicians – the Bromley Blues Club at Bromley Little Theatre.

DEL BROMHAM
Del Bromham says, right from as far as he can remember has always had
music in his life. He was just 11 years old when his brother gave him his first guitar which someone had dumped in his dustbin. By the time he was 12 he was forming his first band at school in Shepherds Bush West London and by the time he was 14 years old he was playing in his brothers group ‘TheTraders,’ playing the pubs and working men’s clubs.
At 15 years of age he wanted to form his own group called ‘The Stray’. By 1970 at 18 years of age he had signed his first record deal with Transatlantic Records and released the first self-titled album ‘STRAY’. Stray went on to record around 14 studio and live albums and has toured constantly over the years. There have been other artistes who have covered songs by Del Bromham and STRAY, notably Iron Maiden who recorded and released STRAY’s, arguably best known song, ‘All in your Mind’ as the flip side to the 1970 no.1 single ‘Holy Smoke’.
Del will be touring with his trio featuring Karl Randall on drums and Colin
‘Curvy’ Kempster on bass guitar. Catch him while you can. Tickets Available Now.
